How do scientists observe and learn?
They look, listen, touch, look again, ask questions, say things like "I wonder, I noticed, I'm thinking" Well then we must be scientists! And writers too! Writers and scientists write and draw all the small details and that's just what we are doing! We cut open a pumpkin and put it in a jar and have been observing and writing about how it has been changing! I wonder what it will look like on Monday!

The students have been working so hard in math during our counting with friends unit. We are about to move on to our new math unit: shapes! We will be learning to identify 2-D and 3-D shapes, explain the difference between the shapes based on their characteristics, and count the faces and vertices/corners on a 3-D shape. Here we are wrapping up our unit with some spooky stations ^different ways to represent a number (: Ten-frame fun! ^one to one correspondence counting
So proud of my Goal Scouts! They have been goal setting and goal meeting like pros since the beginning of the year! I cannot wait to tell you about and show you their progress on Friday! You will get to see their data binders that track growth as well as their goal sashes to see the badges they have earned and hear about the badges they are working to earn!
