We had a great time celebrating the 100th day of school on Tuesday! First we made fruit loop necklaces with 100 fruity loops! Then we had someone's Gigi came to talk to us because like the student said, "she's the closest person I know to being 100!" Gigi taught us about inventions she did not have when she grew up that we have today and what technology did look like when she was a little girl. The kids were fascinated to learn that the only telephone she had growing up was one hanging on the wall at a local drugstore and when it rang someone answered and had to run down the street to get the person they were calling for!! She also told us that the first time she went on an airplane she was 10 years old and people dressed fancy to fly on the plane! She said it was a very noisy experience because the propeller was so loud! Later our reading buddies came to help us celebrate!!! It was a surprise for both classes that Mrs. Child's and myself arranged (:
With their buddies the class made a 100 snack trail mix, had to make a structure with 100 blocks, and complete a 100 piece puzzle!
