Hey hey hey! We have been busy over here in Mrs. A's class! We have been working on using transitional words (first, next, then, and last) to sequence or How To books! We cannot wait to show you our fall themed How To books after our presentation on Wednesday!
In reading we have been working on our reading strategies or as I like to call them: READING SUPER POWERS! Pointer power, reread power, partner power, picture power, sight word power, and sound power! The students have been activating these powers and using them when reading with me in small groups, by themselves, and with partners! I told them that I was reflecting (p.s. the new cookies for character word is reflective) over the weekend when I saw the new Marvel movie Thor Ragnarok and I noticed that we are like super heroes too when we read, when things look tough or seem difficult, we never give up! We are super readers! We have also been working on classifying and comparing 2D and 3D shapes. We have been comparing shapes based on their orientations using our math language to describe similarities, differences, and parts. Below is a picture of the students realizing that 3D shapes have faces that contain 2D shapes! Here they are sorting the shapes based on if the faces are circular or square (:
