As we continued our lessons on rules and what is expected of us as Kindergartners at Heards Ferry, we read the book No, David! and then made David puppets and acted out scenarios of how we should and shouldn't behave in the hallway, classroom, bathroom, and during safety drills using our puppets.
Next week: In ELA, we are going to be working on colors and how to spell the different color names. We will also be working on our writing ELAGSEKW3: Use a combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to narrate a single event or several loosely linked events, tell about the events in the order in which they occurred, and provide a reaction to what happened. In Math, we will begin our counting with friends unit MGSEK.CC.1. Count to 100 by ones and by tens. MGSEK.CC.2. Count forward beginning from a given number within the known sequence (instead of having to begin at 1). MGSEK.CC.3. Write numbers from 0 to 20. Represent a number of objects with a written numeral 0-20 (with 0 representing a count of no objects). Count to tell the number of objects. MGSEK.CC.4 Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality. MGSEK.CC.5 Count to answer ‘how many?” questions. In Social Studies, we will begin learning about Community helpers SSKCG1 The student will demonstrate an understanding of good citizenship. a. Explain how rules are made and why. b. Explain why rules should be followed. and starting our IB Unit Central Idea: Roles and Responsibilities in a community develop connections to others around the world.
