This morning we made and set leprechaun traps out of recyclable items but that sneaky leprechaun was too fast!
Speaking of recyclable items a note came home in the Thursday folder about our summative project for our "Sharing the Planet" IB unit. We need assistance in gathering materials for this project such as bottle caps, soda can tabs, toilet paper/paper towel rolls etc. Please start sending in items Wednesday March 28th. We will accept rinsed/cleaned items through March 30th. Also in your Thursday folder you may have received your digital learning day work that was turned in to me back with feedback from me. If you haven't received it and you turned it in, it will be in next Thursdays folder with comments (I'm still looking through them)! It looks like the students had a productive learning day! In this IB unit we have been learning about animals and habitats and the students have been working on informational books about an animal they chose in the forest habitat! They have been learning research skills (how to use books and technology to find and record facts) and have been compiling their research into amazing non-fiction books! They even made diagrams with labels and table of contents for these books based on the text features they saw in the books they were exposed to. You will be able to see these books as well as their entire writing portfolios (narrative and informational pieces from first and second semester) at the student led conference on April the 26th at 1:30. Have a great weekend!
