We had such a blast in math today! We used our counting strategies to count toppings for pizza for our class pizzeria. At the pizzeria the students wore their chef hats and worked as a team just like in a real restaurant! They did it all! They were readers who read the ingredients and the amount needed that were on the order form, they were counters who used the "move and count" strategy to count the toppings, and they were checkers who reviewed and checked the amount before it was ready to be served to the hungry customer (me, with a strong Italian accent to fit the Italian pizzeria atmosphere). The class did awesome! Even our school chef, Chef Reggie was impressed!
