Your child probably has been coming home with increased interest about animals that you would find in China (Pandas, Snow Leopards, Tigers, Elephants) and it's because they have been researching them! You would be blown away by these researchers. They have been using all different non-fiction books, sites, and apps to gather important information about the mammal of their choice and they are really becoming experts. The students have been finding interesting facts about their animal's habitat, diet, babies, and so much more! The students have been using sticky notes to flag key points that they wish to remember and recording the info they find. Next week they are going to work to put all this rich information they have learned and collected and create their own informational books in writing! This week we we talked about non-fiction text features and created a table of contents for our books so we will know how our books will be organized! We also talked about how important introductions are when creating a book because introductions can hook your reader and grab their attention, wanting them to read more! Also as you probably saw on seesaw, Super ADDler the addition hero came to save the day! Bringing numbers of things together to find the sum! Last but not least, THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH for my sweet Teacher Appreciation Week gifts!!!!! I am so grateful for all of you! Thank you for making me feel so appreciated!!!
